hi

I have another blog I just started. I have a habit of starting something and not keeping up with it, so I will wait to link it here. :)

mmmmm!

Oh goodness, I really want this. I've wanted one for a while, but didn't really feel the need for it because I wasn't sewing, but now that I am, I need want it.

It would make all my projects look that much more finished and professional.

I have a list of stuff I want to get sometime soon, so I can start working on more projects. I have so many ideas, but such limited means. I need more elastic, hand needles, buttons/snaps, interfacing(!!), more fabric (store bought, old sheets/blankets, button-ups, etc.). I wish I had the cash and a way to get to a thrift store and walmart and I'd be set for a while!

But for the time being, I'm looking up projects and saving ideas for later. I can't wait to get to some of them. My first one will be some booties for Booboo Bear and maybe a jacket! (Still looking for a pattern/guide for the jacket though)

I hope everyone has a good week. Ours started out pretty crappily. I got stung by a bee, we got into a car accident, and then I missed my show. But life goes on, and luckily no one was hurt in the accident, but our car is pretty messed up. Our brand new shiny white car. :(

simple pleasures

My inspiration doesn't stay long, so when I'm inspired to do something, I need to do it ASAP, or I will just never do it. So today, I called up my MIL at 9 AM to ask if she wouldn't mind coming to pick up Peanut and I so I could get my fabric/supplies from her house, and so she could visit with Peanut for a few. I hated calling her that early, but she didn't seem to mind. :) So I got home and started drafting my pattern. I wanted to make a hobo/slouch style bag. I had some cute gingham-like and calico fabrics I wanted to use. So I got right to work, my sewing machine hadn't really been used before, I did some test strips and that was about it, so I was really excited to get my hands on it and use it for what I bought it for! I got the pattern drawn, pinned, and cut. Ironed on my interfacing and started sewing! I was so scared I was really going to mess something up. I kept getting interrupted by Bubbles, she was awake from her nap or she was hungry or needed changed, or just plain ol' bored. Ya know, baby stuff. Hubby kept calling me, too. But in the end, I was very VERY pleased with the outcome! The pictures do it no justice! Here is my lovely creation right here. So simple, yet so pleasing.
Here is another image of the inside and an image of the charm that's attached to the inside pocket. I made the giraffe charm right before I had my daughter, I haven't made them since. But now, I have my supplies!

inspiration

I get bored. Really bored. Bubbles is having her fun playing in her room, Hubby is at work and I have nothing to do. I don't need to sleep, or I won't sleep at night. I can't cook. Who would I cook for? So I surf the internet. The past few days I've been looking for decorations for our new apartment and ideas I can do myself. We won't be moving for another month, but I am still on the lookout for awesome ideas, colors, decorations, etc. I came across this site last night and have been searching through the posts and clicking on the links. I am just so overwhelmed with what I am seeing, I've been saving images like crazy. I've found some of the cutest things! And now, I am so excited to move, but first a quick stop by the thrift store would be nice.

martha-a-holic? nah!

Ok, so I love Martha Stewart. I try to watch her show everyday, I have her added to my myspace, and I check her site many times a week. They make the cutest crafts on her show and the yummiest looking food. I'm not obsessed, just a big fan.
I used to get her magazines as hand-me-downs from my grandmother. Oh how I miss them. I wanted to try every craft and every food dish in there. Of course, I couldn't, but I sure begged my mother to get the supplies for me. I still have an issue of the now discontinued Martha Stewart Baby. I wanted to have everything out of that magazine. I have went through that issue too many times to count. My mother tried to take it from me, but that didn't happen! :D I wish I had a subscription to MSL, but of course we can't afford it at the moment. Hopefully soon, though, and then good luck finding me outside, I'll be inside doing crafts and decorating. Unless, of course, if it's springtime, I'll be taking Martha's advice on what plants to pot and grow.
Ahh, wishful thinking, what else can a stay-at-home mother do when the baby's napping?
I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello!

I have some photos to share. I've been needing to plug my camera into my computer and get the newest photos off of it. I took a few good shots of Booboo Bear and I've been wanting to look at them on here! My camera was at my mother-in-law's for a while, but I've got it now. :)
Here is my little darling!
And here is one of our kitten who is currently getting fixed & declawed. He has a habit of attacking my feet and scratching me really bad. I can't wait until he's back though, he's my little buddy!

Well, that's all for now. It's been boring 'round here lately. We have started packing to move here soon, though, and I'm being impatient about it! I can't wait to move to our new apartment in Waxahachie.
